Efficiency Maine is pleased to announce access to Federal stimulus dollars that can help YOU improve your home’s comfort and safety now, while saving money on utility bills for years to come!

Take advantage of this limited-time opportunity to participate in
the Weatherization Program:
The first 4,000 homes in the program will receive up to $3,000 each in incentives for approved energy-efficiency projects that meet minimum heating and hot water energy savings requirements;
Funded by the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA); and,
Federal tax credits may also be applicable.
Improvements eligible for incentives:
Insulation and air sealing;
High efficiency heating and domestic hot water equipment;
Programmable thermostats and other controls;
Solar water heating systems;
Water saving devices (low-flow showerheads / faucet aerators); and,
Energy efficient replacement windows.
Eligibility and Process:
All income levels are eligible to participate*;
Structure must be a one- to four-dwelling residence;
Maine homes must be heated year round;
Energy audits must be performed by a certified auditor/analyst;
At least 25% savings must be achieved from combined heating and hot water fuel usage;
Pre-installation review and pre-approval are required;
Installations must completed by a Weatherization Participating Contractor; and,
Retroactive:
- Audits performed by a certified auditor/analyst from 1/1/09 on are eligible to apply for pre-approval; and,
- No retroactive incentives on completed energy efficiency projects
*Low Income homeowners should apply to MaineHousing for eligible services.
